Keep Going, Dont Let Anyone Pull You Back!

My dear friends, please don’t let anyone come and tell you what you are worthy of and what you are not worthy of. You are the one and only one in this whole world, who knows your potential. The reality is in front of you. There are million things that you want to do, but just because of some people round you, you keep quiet. There are some basic things you need to keep in mind to be successful in life and at work:
1. There is no shortcut to hard work: Though it’s a cliché and there are many people who will argue this against smart work, there really is ‘NO’ shortcut to hard work. It’s just important to understand that hard work along with smart work can take you places, though given choice, be smart and select hard work. Sooner or Later, this will surely pay off. Though, purely smart work will have a beginners luck but will fade away in the end.
2. "Life is not designed to give us what we need; life is designed to give us what we deserve." - Mostly, people, as they gain number of years of experience, think that their experience is valued and hence they do not have to perform the jobs of an Analyst. That is the biggest mistake all of us make in today’s world. The way new generations from college are coming out, they are way smarter and have much more exposure than all of us. We need to keep up the pace to survive. That would surely mean putting in way more effort than the newbies, to cope with the changing world and technology.
3. "Live up to your potential, not down to other people’s expectations."- Its usually the people surrounding you, whether it’s your friends, your spouse or your family that influence a lot of decisions in your life. They will throw out an expectation in front of you every time. Just because a person in your family who has same experience is way more successful does not put you off the road. Don’t let people judge you basis that and put the pressures on you. You know your potential, make the most of it. Just be on the right path, keep trying. You don’t know when the right opportunities strike in life, keep yourself ready for that. And opportunities, my friend, always come in bits and spurts
4. There may be times when you hate the people you work with, you hate the job you are doing and you hate the environment. Mondays might become the biggest pain in head over weekend. You need a change my friend. Either change your job or your attitude. When thousands of doors close, there might as well still be one open. Look for that open door. It might involve raising your hand and taking additional responsibility to get your presence felt. This additional responsibility does not have to be in your current role, it might as well be the social committee, the technology committee or any internal network. Enter these with the vision of having your presence felt and making a difference to the organization. Trust me, these might become your driving factor to office.
5. You can have a failing skill but not a failing attitude. Organizations generally judge you by your attitude and the difference you make with that. Do you recognize a face in your office who is really good at his job but creates negative vibes for everyone around? He is probably taking a hit year over year on promotion or salary hikes. He will also likely be the one laid off first. The plain reason is that an organization cannot afford to have an ocean of whining people, wasting time cribbing, when organization wants people with focus on growing the company and creating the same positive culture. Are you one of those? Time to think again.
6. Ask for mentoring: When you feel deadlocked and none of above seems to work. Don’t give up, unless your health is for a toss with stress. Ask for a mentor. It could be anyone you feel comfortable talking to and you trust would not talk your problems around. Also, if you don’t know who should be mentoring you, raise our hand and ask your manager/ HR for suggestions. Let them come up with a mentor for you. Chances are they will get the best fit, since they know you most, as an employee.
7. Don’t let the lows in job or in life bring you down morally. That’s the biggest mistake you will ever do. You will get a job one day, maybe it will take few months, an year, 2 years, you will get one. However, what you would have lost by then is your health. Health damage is generally an irreparable loss. Don’t go in for it.
Be Positive, Be happy and Shine Bright!!
